Pisces is ruled by the Planets Jupiter and Neptune. In ancient Roman mythology, Jupiter (the original ruler of Pisces) was the king of the gods, while Neptune was the ruler of the seas. When Neptune was discovered in recent times, it was attached to this Sign. The pairing of these two heavenly bodies results in some unique energies being directed toward Pisceans here on Earth. Those born under this Sign are spiritually oriented and charitable. They are compassionate, easily feeling another's pain. At times, however, Pisceans can have difficulty distinguishing fact from fantasy: they tend to get caught up in their dreams and views of how things should be. To say they wear rose-colored glasses isn't much of a stretch. Pisces is a mutable water sign emphasizing its ability to change with, adapt to, and even transcend circumstances. Yet this very ability also means that Pisces sometimes lives in a world far removed from reality. Its mutable nature under the influence of Neptune (which accentuates imagination and intuition) could also mean a form of escapism whether through substance abuse, or even religion and spirituality. Pisces constantly tries to achieve an inner balance between these extremes of pure emotion and consciousness, and the practical world. In everything they do Fishes strongly believe in swimming with the tide, for nothing upsets them more than discord and conflict. They are essentially gentle dreamy creatures driven by the ambition and will of other stronger signs. Extremely affectionate and full of love and caring, they have an intuitive understanding of the needs of those around them and will adapt almost unknowingly as required. This ability to merge with the outside world finds highest expression as a spiritual quest, a search for a Universal Truth, which is beyond the petty confines of religion. At worst, it is a complete submissiveness to (or empathy with) circumstances or people so that Pisces cannot even fathom what they, as opposed to others, really want out of life. Fishes are very trusting, they want to believe and so, more often than not get easily hurt. On the other hand, their active imagination if not properly channeled, can easily veer towards making up half truths and stories which not only deceive the world, but also themselves. Yet they are gifted and creative artists, displaying an intuitive understanding of their Muse. Fishes are amazingly immune to chaos and disorder around them and will not even notice the inconvenience! 

His extremely adaptable and impressionable of signs can often suffer from a lack of confidence simply because they rarely understand their own needs. An atmosphere of praise and encouragement will help build their confidence and identify their goals.
