1)Cold
Running nose, Sneezing, Fever, Headache, Lethargy
Remedies:
Running nose
Drink tea of eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis), sage and peppermint, 1 cup with ½ tsp. of each –3-4 times / day.
Apply paste of cloves, eucalyptus, camphor and cinnamon over the forehead, nose and sinuses.
Stuffy nose
Inhale steam vapor of eyebright, sage and ephedra (Ephedra
sinica) and Tilia cordata.
Inhale steam vapor of basil, camphor and mint.

2) Constipation
Accumulation of toxins in the colon due to improper bowel movements.
Symptoms are uneasiness, gas and pain in the abdomen.
Remedies:
Massage the abdomen with seasame oil and do light fomentation of the abdomen.
Insert glycerine suppository.
Give purgatives like senna, rhubarb or castor when digestion improves.
Chronic constipation
Ingest a laxative of amalaki, haritaki and bibhitaki in the combination 2:1:1 of 1-3 gms at night with warm water.
Drink 30 ml of medicinal wine of casia fistula fruit pulp (abhayarishta) – 2 times /day for 1 month.
Drink a glass of warm milk with 1 tsp. ghee – once every night for 3 months.
Drink 4 teaspoons of warm seasame oil – once / night.
Drink 1-2 tsp. flaxseeds or psyllium seeds with warm water or milk – once / night.

3)
Cough
Irritation of the upper respiratory tract, throat, pharynx, bronchi, trachea and pleura of the lungs.
Remedies:
Drink tea made from marshmallow, or beinwell, comfrey, slippery elm, cardamon or cinnamon – 25 ml 3 times / day.
Drink tea of licorice, thyme, holunder flowers (equal amounts of herbs, pour boiling water over it, let stand for 15 min) – 3 times / day.
Drink tea from elecampane root, licorice and ginger, add honey – 3 times / day.
Take a Sitopaladi tablet or powder 500 mg - 3-4 times / day.
Cough and Fever
Drink tea of Löwenzahn roots and peppermint leaves.
Cough and Mucous
Paste of camphor, trikatu, basil leaves and bayberry fruit, or Talisadi powder of 250 mg – 2 times / day.

4) Acidity
It is also called "Amlapitta" in Ayurveda. Excessive secretion of improper gastric acid in the stomach causes this disorder.
Remedies:
Grind equal amounts of dried blossoms of basil, bark of the Neem (Margosa) tree and black pepper into a homogenous mixture. Take one level teaspoon of this powder every morning and evening with a draft of water, but do not drink milk immediately after. Acidity will be removed from the body along with the sweat and urine.

5)
Blood Pressure
It is lateral pressure exerted by blood on the walls of vessels. High Blood Pressure or Hypertension is caused by the narrowing of the blood vessels which adds pressure on the heart which in turn results in the increase in blood pressure. Low Blood Prssure or Hypotension is caused by the lack of supply of oxygenated blood to the brain.
Remedies:
The drinking of basil-leaf tea keeps the blood pressure even. Garlic is also regarded as one of the most effective remedies to lower blood pressure. Indian gooseberry or amla is also effective

6)
Canker Sores
Trauma to the muscus membrane of the mouth. Could happen if you have bitten the inside of your lip or cheek.
Remedies:
Apply paste of tumeric and honey – 4-5 times / day.
Apply or rinse mouth with juice of aloe vera 2 times / day·
Gargle with watery paste of tee tree oil, camomille and water 3-4 times / day.
Drink tea of Löwenzahn roots and flowers of camomille and peppermint in equal amounts – 2 times / day, to alleviate
Pitta.

7)
Cataract
An opacity of the crystalline lenses of the eye or it`s capsule.
Remedies:
Mix a little honey with the juice of basil leaves and apply over the eyes every morning and evening. Fresh cases are dissolved without surgery, while chronic ones are rendered "ripe" so that they can be surgically removed.

8) Diarrhea
Increased frequency of bowel movement with loose or watery stools, often accompanied by abdominal cramping.Passing liquid stools, dryness of mouth, thirst, weakness and gas in the abdomen.
Remedies:
Rest the digestive system by fasting.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Ama
Detoxify the system, then provide herbs which increase the digestive fire and astringent herbs to stop the loose motions.
Cook an apple and a banana until soft, add 1 tsp. ghee and a pinch of nutmeg powder.
Eat 1 tsp. of kümmel seeds with a pinch of rock salt.
Drink tea of camomille flower or peppermint – 2 times / day.
Drink tea from mullein flowers (Verbascum thaspus), comfrey roots
(beinwell) – 2 times /day.
Drink warm water with ginger, piper longum, piper nigrum (=trikatu) – 2 times /day.

9) Care
for Ear:
Wax is secreted naturally to protect the eardrum. Dirt accumulates and the wax becomes hard. This can cause earache.
Remedies: Wash the ear with warm water. Use a syringe (without the needle) to aim water at the side of the ear and not directly on the eardrum. If the wax is very hard, put a few drops of seasame oil for 2-3 days into the ear and carry out the process again.
Ear Ache
Put 2-3 drops of medicated oil in the ear.
10) Eczema
Skin condition characterized by oozing, itching and formation of small
postules. It can be acute or chronic.
Remedies:
Medicated purgation.
Prepare medicated ghee by cooling all iterative herbs i.e.
Löwerzahn, berberis, neem, aloe vera, blue flag, burdock, chaparral and tinospora
cordifolia.
Panchatikta ghrita 1 tbsp. – 2 times / day for 1 month·
Take a Arogyavardhini tablet 250 mg – 3 times / day for 1 month.
Apply paste of shatadhauta ghruta locally to the affected area.

11) Eye Care:
Maintaining Health of Eyes
Splash cold water on your eyes every morning to cool them.
Trataka Exercise: Gaze at the flame of ghee lamps set at the distance of 3 feet for 2-3 minutes every morning.
Triphala (rasayana for eyes)
Preventing Eye Strain
Take a break when working at the computer every hour.
Use a protective screen, which cuts radiation.
Apply a small cotton puff dipped in cold milk or rose water over the eyes for 15 minutes at night.
Put a drop of castor oil in the eyes at bedtime.
Burning of Eyes (due to Pitta)
Apply castor oil to the sole of the feet every day for 5 minutes at night.

12)
Fever:
Increased body temperature due to vitiated Pitta is called Fever or "Jwara".
Remedies: Boil about 10 gms of basil leaves in 250 ml of water till the water is reduced to 125 ml, then add a little rock salt to taste. This tea produces immediate sweating and relieves the fever. Another option is drinking tea made of basil leaves, black pepper and candy sugar.
Major Herbs: Basil leaf, black pepper, candy sugar.
13) Gas in Intestines
Accumulation of gas anywhere in gastrointestinal tract, associated with colicy type of pain.
Remedies:
Ama Type: Fast until ama is detoxified.
Only eat light vegetable soup, drink warm water with lemon and honey.
Vata Type :Use herbs with carminative action: anise, caraway, fennel, dill, cumin, asafetida, garlic and use alkaline salts of herbs such as yavakshara and
apamargakshara, sour taste in citrus and lemon.
Drink tea of melisse flowers (combine seeds of `Kleine
Bibernelle` with a pinch of rock salt and add warm water or Kuemmel seeds).
Warm infusion of Wacholder berries. Hingashtaka or Lavana bhaskara powder 1 gm with warm water or buttermilk – 2 times / day for 15 days
Jirakadyarishta (wine of cumin) or abhayarishta (medical wine of
haritaki) 15 ml – 3 times / day for 3 weeks.

14)
Headaches
Vata Type:
Pain starts in the evening. It is of a throbbing, pulsating and migrating type, associated with neck stiffness, back stiffness and constipation.
Pitta Type: Pain starts in the afternoon and is associated with burning of the eyes. It gets worse with heat, bright light and exposure to the sun.
Kapha Type: Pain may start early in morning, is of the dull aching type, deep seated. It is associated with nausea, vomiting, cold, cough and sinus congestion and choking of the nose.
Remedies:
Vata Type:
Massage the aching area with seasame oil and camphor for a few minutes.
Apply paste of nutmeg powder and water over the area.
Put 3-5 drops of warm ghee in both the nostrils.
Take a warm shower.
Take triphala or warm milk and ghee at night to keep the bowels open.
Pitta Type: Apply paste of sandalwood powder and rose water over the area.
Put 2-3 drops of liquid ghee in both the nostrils.
Massage the scalp and the sole of the feet with brahmi or bhringraj oil.
Drink ½ cup of aloe vera juice in the afternoon.
Kapha Type: Inhale steam vapor medicated with basil, camphor or eucalyptus oil for a few minutes to clear the sinus congestion.
Apply paste of clove, ginger and calamus mixed in water,on the affected area.

15)
Migraine
Pain in half side of the head.
Remedies: Follow a Pitta pacifying diet.
Stay away from heat, exposure to bright sunlight and sun.
Eat sweets (containing raw sugar, cardamon or banana), when symptoms begin. Do not drink water for 3 hours after eating these sweets.
Carry out cooling pranayama – sheetali.
Nasal Cleansing (Nasya)- put 2 drops of concentrated solution of simple table salt in each nostril every 5 minutes until headache subsides.

16)
Stones (bladder)
It is a disorder due to vitation of all doshas affecting the urinary system.
Remedies: Make the patient sit on a steam bath prepared with about 100 gms of basil blossoms to a liter of water. Continue treatment daily for a week. Depending on the size and nature of the calculii, they should dissolve and be flushed out with the urine.
